can I suggest we get an dedicated events team

and we get a chat box on the forums

also we get a events board to post events on

Hi David.

The events are usually organised by the Admin team. Thats what we have done on our sister site civic5, and found it works fine. We havent got to the stage where we can have HCUK meets yet though, due to needing more members. But we're working on it! lol

Regarding the chatbox, we did have that on our previous hondaclub uk forum (this is the new one) but found it wasnt really used that much by members. We also found it was pretty slow, and unreliable. The problem with having a chatbox in a forum is that it detracts from people actually posting up articles and having a discussion about them, with the threads there for all to see plus future visitors to the forum. Anything discussed in a chatbox is only there during the actual chat. We prefer to have all the interesting and useful discussions available to view anytime.

Theres a meets/events section there mate, but we havent had any meets yet lol.
